Give your objects a history (or just realistic texture) with Wear & Tear, a procedural weathering and texture painting tool for Unity.
Turn clean props into worn machinery, rusty containers, dusty equipment or abandoned scenery. Start with a ready-made Look, adjust the amount of wear, then refine the result with editable layers and brush strokes directly in the Scene view.
Place wear where it belongs. Apply effects to exposed edges, recessed crevices, ambient occlusion regions or upward-facing surfaces. Combine these areas to create chipped corners, accumulated grime and dust deposits that follow your mesh.
Build your own surface finish. Mix up to nine layers and choose from 36 mask patterns covering rust, corrosion, dirt, stains, scratches and peeling paint. Adjust colour, coverage, metallic, smoothness and surface relief. Control pattern scale, rotation and repetition, then save your settings as reusable Looks.
Combine automatic placement with hand painting. Add or erase wear exactly where you need it. Brush modes let you target edges and occluded areas or keep those regions clean.
Keep editing or bake the result. Work with a live material or a separate overlay, then bake the finished look into standard textures and materials. Apply the result to your object, create a separate baked copy, export textures only or bake the wear as an overlay.
Original source meshes and materials remain unchanged, making it easy to experiment and return to the original appearance.
Includes nine ready-made Looks, 36 studio masks, documentation and Showcase scenes featuring a shipwreck, pipe rack, cargo container and oil drums.
