The Portal Occlusion library can substantially increase game performance for complex indoor scenes. It allows you to create rooms and portals quickly and easily. Once your scene is setup using the simple Room and Portal prefabs, the portal system will quickly optimize scene geometry so that your scene only renders what it needs to, and doesn't draw rooms which can't be seen by the camera.

Demos to Get Started.


This library comes with two demos to help you out - the visualizer and demo scene. The visualizer is a simple project that shows what is happening "under the hood" with the portal occlusion sub-system. It's meant to give you a better understanding of how things work. The demo scene, on the other hand, is designed to show you what you can begin to achieve in visual quality and performance. Set in an old, dusty, Victorian mansion, you can explore the dark, high-detailed rooms while enjoying the smooth frame-rates provided by the occlusion system. Use the function keys to see how performance is altered with and without the occlusion system.
