Underwater World was recorded using the Aquarian H2A hydrophone, a microphone designed to work fully submerged. These recordings capture a range of underwater and water-surface actions with a clarity and intimacy that a standard microphone in front of a water source cannot approach. The result is a library of bubble, splash, drop and submerge recordings that work equally well as straight foley and as raw material for creature design and sci-fi sound.
The bubble section is the most detailed, covering every variation of air through water in documented form. Big pipe bursts, single pops, straw blowing, tube fizz, bottle draining, continuous streams, erratic bursts, light quick thrumming series and plunger operations all appear, alongside coconut shell drops and crisp packet recordings that produce a particularly brittle underwater texture.
The submerge and emerge sections cover frying pans, hands, metal buckets and metal pipes going into and out of water across dozens of variants. Underwater Doppler pass-bys, including bubbling, deceleration and high and low varieties, give the library a motion element. Five three-minute underwater watery ambiences provide long-form bed recordings. Underwater explosions complete what is a comprehensive hydrophone library for Film, TV and Games.
All sounds are fully metadata tagged and ready for Unity.
