Every kid knows how a paper plane flies. Now your game does too.
Paper Plane Controller is a physics paper plane that you fold, throw and fly. Lift, drag and stalls come from the plane's shape: a long glider floats for ages, a stubby dart turns on a coin, and pull up too hard and the nose drops just like the real thing. It still flies smoothly enough for anyone to pick up and play.
Two ways to fly
- Arcade: a little motor holds cruise speed, Boost goes faster and the plane levels itself. Made for ring races and free flight.
- Glide: no motor. The plane starts in your hand: aim, wind up and throw, then dive for speed and ride updrafts to stay up. Made for distance throws and target games.
- Switch with one key, or set it per plane.
Design your own plane: the Paper Plane Creator
- Start from Classic Dart, Glider, Wide Wing, Stunt or Needle, or press Surprise Me.
- Plain-language sliders for span, sweep, nose, wing angle, folded tips, winglets, keel and fin. Hover a slider and its part lights up in the live 3D preview.
- Ten paper styles (notebook, graph paper, newspaper, kraft, stripes, polka dots, waves, checker, camo), stickers, doodles or your own picture.
- See how it flies before you save: speed, glide, turning and stability bars, paper clips on the nose, and a test throw with distance marks.
- One click saves a ready-to-fly prefab, with its flight worked out from its shape.
Tricks and crashes that make people laugh
- Loops, barrel rolls and sideways dashes.
- Crashes crumple the paper, throw out paper scraps and play in slow motion.
- Hit a wall nose-first and the plane sticks in it like a dart, with a twang.
- Checkpoints and respawn.
A world to play in
- Wind zones and updrafts with streaks and sound: ride warm air over a radiator or the steam from a pot.
- Rings and boost rings, bullseye targets for floors and walls, bins, and paper cup stacks and toy block towers to knock over.
- Everything is placed from one menu and scores through events.
Game modes and HUD, ready to go
- Free Flight, Ring Race (best times, waypoint to the next ring) and Target Toss (five throws, best score).
- A pause menu to pick them, and a HUD with speed, height, the throw meter, a stall warning, funny callouts, objective, timer, score and waypoint. No Canvas needed.
- Write your own modes from a small base class.
Six demo scenes at toy scale
- Classroom: desks, chalkboard, radiators and ceiling fans.
- Office: cubicles, copier, air-con and cup towers.
- Bedroom: a sunset bedroom with a dartboard and a teddy bear.
- Kitchen: steam from the pot and a fridge target to stick your plane in.
- Backyard: fly through the treehouse, under the washing line and up the barbecue smoke.
- Park: a big outdoor park with a fountain updraft, thermals, hot-air balloons and 20 rings.
Plays everywhere
- Keyboard, gamepad and on-screen touch controls (floating stick, buttons, swipe to throw and dash, drag to look, optional tilt steering).
- Works with the Input System or the old Input Manager.
Looks and sound, no files needed
- Wings flap, bend and flutter; the paper ripples in the air and crumples on impact; wing-tip trails and speed lines.
- Every sound is generated: rushing air, rattling paper, throws, whooshes, crumples, ring chimes, fanfares and confetti pops. Swap in your own clips with a Sound Set, or export them as WAV files to edit.
- A chase camera that feels fast, watches loops and holds back to see crashes.
Built for designers
- One Setup Window: add planes, pick models or designs, presets and feel sliders, controls, camera, looks, world pieces, game modes and demo scenes.
- Check & Fix finds setup problems and fixes them in one click.
- Ten Classic plane models included, plus four ready-made designs.
For programmers
- One simulation component with read-only state and events (crashes, landings, tricks, throws, rings, targets, props).
- Fly it from your own code with SetInput, throw it with Throw, push it with AddWind.
- Scripted input for tutorials and attract modes; an automation API for the Creator and Setup Window.
- Namespaced code with assembly definitions.
The docs include an upgrade guide.
Works with Unity 6 and the Universal Render Pipeline (URP). Includes a Quick Start and a 20-page Documentation PDF.
