East Asia has a sound unlike anywhere else, and this library captures it across several countries and cities. 344 SFX - East Asia Ambience is a field recording collection from Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau, covering public spaces, transit systems, and outdoor environments.
The Japanese recordings are the most detailed. A bullet train station in Kyoto is recorded from both the platform and on board, with multiple interior ride perspectives covering the steady cabin hum and onboard PA announcements. Local trains in Tokyo and Osaka give you older, rattling carriages with stop-start movement and quiet passenger walla. The Kyoto and Hong Kong metro systems are covered with boarding, riding, and platform arrival recordings. A Tokyo marathon is captured near the finish line with runners passing and crowds cheering. A cherry blossom field gives you a relaxed park atmosphere with conversation and birds. A Hong Kong horse race covers night exterior atmosphere with commentator and crowd noise. The bird market in Hong Kong has dense, layered chirping with voices in the background.
