Model Change Preservation for Game Creator 2 is a Unity 6+ compatibility extension designed to make runtime character model swapping safer, smoother, and more production-ready.
Game Creator 2 rebuilds parts of the Character animation system when a model is changed. Depending on the active gameplay state, this can interrupt animation layers, temporary gestures, IK, equipped props, footsteps, or module-specific runtime references.
This module preserves and restores that context around model changes without modifying the official Game Creator 2 source.
It supports persistent animation States such as aiming, melee stances, blocking, and traversal modes, while also preserving temporary Gestures such as reloads, attacks, jump spins, dodges, reactions, and traversal animations.
The module also includes a seamless Change Model Visual Scripting instruction, Animator culling protection, Shooter weapon/IK rebinding, Inventory equipment rebinding, IK repair, animation phase restoration, and a model-safe footstep detector that continues using Game Creator’s normal Material Sounds system.
Only Game Creator 2 Core is required. Integrations such as Shooter and Inventory are optional and activate automatically when the corresponding module is installed.
