About this asset
Young Universe Arcade Engine provides the connected mechanics for a compact arcade shooter: move between lanes, dodge committed attacks, clear locked encounters and survive an Endless run interrupted by mandatory bosses.
Configure weapons and combat actors through ScriptableObject assets. Replace the simple sample robot rig with your own sprites and animation. Use the runtime components in your own scene, or study Campaign, Endless and Boss Arena to see them working together.
Included systems:
- Kinematic 2D movement with jump buffering, coyote time, jet fuel and protected dash.
- Horizontal lane-aware automatic fire with visible pooled projectiles.
- Straight, sine, gravity and limited-seeking trajectory models.
- Ground/flying pursuit examples with anticipation, release and recovery.
- Boss attack decks, health phases, committed bursts, recovery movement and health supplies.
- Defender-count combat gates and recurring active-play boss scheduling.
- Coins, weapon purchases, damage/armor upgrade APIs and backup-recoverable local saves.
- Keyboard, gamepad and sample touch controls, safe-area HUD and pause/retry menus.
- Six enemy settings examples, three boss settings examples, three player weapons and three demo scenes.
- Offline setup/integration manual and optional regression tests.
This package is a mechanics toolkit. It does not contain the original Young Universe commercial game's missions, character artwork, music or story. The sample visuals are simple procedural robots with transform-based animation. Ground pursuit is raycast-based, not a complete navigation/pathfinding system.
