About this asset

FAST FLAT SHADER - FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE RETRO FLAT-SHADING SYSTEM

Turn any scene into 1st generation polygon arcade graphics with one fully customizable URP post-process effect. Whether you're chasing an authentic 1993 arcade look or your own stylized retro creation, this pack gives you full control over every detail.

HOW TO USE:

Add the Fast Flat Shader Renderer Feature to your URP renderer, then drop any of the six ready-made Volume Profiles onto a Volume - instant 1993, on any scene, any mesh, with zero content changes.

Alternatively, tweak the Fast Flat Shader Volume override to design a custom look, or blend local Volumes for per-area styles - retro arcade in one room, modern rendering in the next. The showcase scene does exactly that.

EASY TO CUSTOMIZE:

Create the perfect retro look for your scene using the exposed Volume parameters:

Six Showcase Looks - Start from the full Master profile, or from LowRes, Facets, Toon, Dithered, or Sunset - one Volume Profile per signature feature.

Pixel Scale - Square-pixel snap to any virtual resolution for that chunky arcade-monitor feel.

Facet Relighting - Lattice-quantized normals re-light the scene as flat polygons - any mesh reads low-poly, no remodeling.

Light & Color Grade - Aim the key light and tint light/ambient colors for full evening-arena style grades, then dial in Saturation and Output Gamma.

Toon Banding - Optional Shade Steps for clean banded cel shading.

Color Crunch - Albedo posterize plus optional 8x8 ordered dither for the classic 90s color crunch.

Every Feature Can Be Tuned - 13 named parameters on a single Volume component, one lean fullscreen pass, built for runtime tweaking and smooth per-volume blending.

The master Shader Graph is fully documented, with a cleanly organized graph making it easy to modify, expand, and build your own custom looks.

PACK BONUS:

POLYGON COAST, a full showcase scene. Press Play and an auto-playing camera tour flies the whole coast, then hands you a free-fly camera.

PACK INCLUDES:

  - Master Fullscreen Shader Graph Post Effect

  - URP Renderer Feature and Volume Component (full C# source)

  - 6 Volume Profiles (Master / LowRes / Facets / Toon / Dithered / Sunset)

  - 8x8 Ordered-Dither Threshold Texture

  - Preconfigured URP Pipeline and Renderer Asset

  - POLYGON COAST Showcase Scene - a whole stretch of coast in flat-shaded polygons: a fight on the beach, six racers on a circuit, a walker duel on a sea fort, a giant arcade cabinet on

the pier, a gold colossus and a test-card service yard, each area with its own local Volume and look

  - Auto-Playing Camera Tour (Timeline) that hands over to a free-fly camera

  - 5 Demo Shader Graphs (triplanar terrain tiles, animated sea, checker floor, arcade attract screen, fighter costume painter)

  - 40+ Generated Demo Meshes, animated polygon fighters with fight animation clips, and painted demo textures (sky, sand, grass, rock, asphalt, deck, water, marble, stone, sign atlas)

REQUIREMENTS:

Universal Render Pipeline with Deferred rendering (the effect re-lights the scene from the GBuffer's albedo and normals). Built for Unity 6.
