About this asset
Top Down Character Controller & Interaction Toolkit
Build exploration and puzzle games without writing gameplay code. Drop in the player prefab, place a few interactables, wire them in the Inspector — you have a working puzzle chain in minutes: pick up an item, unlock a door, enter a code, trigger a pressure plate.
Features
- Character controller — CharacterController-based walk, sprint, and crouch. Smoothed follow camera with zoom, wall-collision avoidance, and screen shake.
- Interaction system — proximity prompts, tap and hold interactions, single-slot inventory.
- Puzzle primitives — item locks, item placers with correct/incorrect detection, keypad code machines, pressure plates, trigger sensors, animated doors. All chained via UnityEvents.
- Health & death — four death modes (animated, ragdoll, instant, explosion), each with its own audio, cleanup, and event hook.
- Menu & popup framework — full-screen menu stack plus an independent popup layer (pause, message box, notifications, object inspector) with history-based back navigation.
- NavMesh bridge — optional NavMeshAgent driver for cutscenes and scripted movement, sharing the same controller as manual play.
- Editor tooling — Tools > MSJ-TDCC > ToolWindow validates dependencies and auto-configures required layers in one click.
- Production-ready code — XML docs on every public class and method. No debug scaffolding, no dead code.
