About this asset
GPU Damage Text renders world-space combat numbers through a single manager, without creating one UI object or GameObject per floating number.
Configure motion, color, scale, fade and duration for Damage, Heal, Critical, Miss and Immune feedback. Use direct asset references or optional key-based resource providers to integrate the system into your project.
Included content
- Runtime manager and public spawn API
- Default material, numeric font atlas, style sheet and quality preset
- Six sample scenes: Basic World Space, Position Sources, Resource Provider, Stress Test, Mobile Stress Lab and Performance Comparison
- Font Customization Reference assets (atlas and JSON; no scene)
- English and Simplified Chinese setup, customization and troubleshooting documentation
Requirements and limitations
- Unity 2022.3 LTS or newer; import and Shader checks performed with 2022.3.62f3 and 6000.4.5f1
- Built-in Render Pipeline and Universal Render Pipeline; HDRP is not officially supported
- The default font targets digits and common numeric symbols. Alphabetic or localized text requires a suitable custom font atlas; text types do not automatically provide word labels
- Addressables is optional, not required
- Stress-test presets demonstrate configurable workloads. Frame rate and capacity depend on hardware, resolution, render pipeline and settings; no fixed frame-rate guarantee is made

Performance comparison video
The new video compares 500 and 1,000 simultaneous three-digit numbers against the included pooled Legacy TextMesh sample. At 500 texts: 79.1 vs 1,229.1 average FPS; at 1,000 texts: 19.6 vs 1,105.4 (TextMesh vs GPU Damage Text).
Measured in a standalone Windows D3D11 player: i7-14700K, RTX 3050, 1080p, Unity 2022.3.62f3, Built-in, VSync off and frame rate uncapped. Three 8-second runs per case, with actual live counts verified every frame. The publisher test harness replenishes each case to the same fixed population. Video visuals are captured separately at fixed 30fps.
This compares the included sample baseline, not TextMesh Pro or an optimized industry-wide baseline. Fonts and animation differ; frame rates vary by hardware and project.
