About this asset

This tool provides a fast and artist-friendly workflow to seamlessly integrate meshes with terrain. It automatically generates a vertex color mask based on distance and terrain interaction, allowing smooth and natural transitions between objects and ground surfaces.

Because the system relies on vertex colors, the resulting blend mask is fully customizable and can be used with custom shader setups. This makes it suitable for a wide range of projects, including realistic environments, stylized worlds, and modular level design.

The tool is designed for production workflows, offering precise control while remaining lightweight and easy to use. With live preview and non-destructive editing, artists can quickly iterate and achieve believable ground contact without manual painting.

Important – Shader and Terrain Compatibility

Please note that the tool does not currently provide native integration with HDRP shaders or automatic support for blending multiple Terrain Layers.

  • HDRP: No dedicated HDRP shader or native HDRP integration is currently included. However, since the tool generates a vertex color mask independently of the rendering pipeline, it can be adapted to work with HDRP through a compatible custom shader.
  • Multiple Terrain Layers: The current terrain texture integration only retrieves the dominant Terrain Layer beneath the object. It does not automatically reproduce or blend the complete multi-layer texture composition of the surrounding Unity Terrain. Custom shader modifications and additional terrain data sampling are required to achieve this.

The tool's core vertex color mask generation remains usable independently of these limitations. Users familiar with Shader Graph or shader development can extend the system to support their specific rendering pipeline and terrain blending requirements.
