Discord Social SDK, introduced in March 2025, is currently in preview and rapidly evolving. This toolkit provides a Unity-native integration designed to simplify your adoption of the SDK and keep pace with Discord’s expanding social features. Please note: This toolkit, like the SDK itself, is in preview—you should expect active development, frequent updates, and occasional breaking changes.

🔧 What You Get Today

The Discord Social SDK currently supports:

• Lobby Creation and Management — Group users into lobbies with support for text and voice chat.
• Cross-Platform Voice & Text — Communicate across platforms and even with users not currently in your game.
• Discord Guild Channel Linking — Lobbies can be connected directly to channels in your Discord server.
• Friends & Rich Presence — Access friend lists, presence information, avatar images, and display names.
• Robust, Extensible Toolkit — Built with Unity devs in mind, our toolkit wraps Discord’s SDK in familiar, component-driven patterns and builds production-ready tools and systems on that.

🔐 To use Discord’s Social SDK, you must be registered as a Discord developer. Registration is currently free via Discord’s developer portal. We provide guidance, but have no control over this process.

🚧 About the Preview Status

Both the Discord Social SDK and this toolkit are in preview. That means:

• Expect frequent updates and feature expansions.
• Some changes may introduce breaking changes—our knowledge base and Discord server provide excellent support to help you manage updates.
• Once the SDK reaches v1.0, this asset will transition from “Preview” to standard versioning.

💳 Licensing & Versioning Model

Heathen assets are sold under a perpetual license—you keep and can use the version you purchase forever.

• Your purchase includes free updates for the year in which it was released.
• Each year, typically on November 1st, a new version is released.
• The new version starts identical to the previous, and receives updates throughout the year.
• Existing users can upgrade to the "new" version at a 80% discount (e.g. €100 asset → €20 upgrade).

💡 Preview-stage assets (like this one) do not follow the yearly version model until they reach v1.0. Buy now, and you get all updates until v1.0 at no additional cost.
