About this asset

Build advanced squad-based AI with ease

Whether you're building a real-time stealth game like Door Kickers, a tactical shooter like SWAT, or a strategy hybrid like XCOM, Tactical Engine provides the tools to make it happen faster and smarter.

Tactical Engine is a development system for top down tactical shooter games that provides advanced tools for the creation, configuration, and management of missions, characters, weapons, and interactions, with a high degree of customization. Its goal is to help developers build content-rich levels with varied objectives and precise control over in-game actions and events.

🔧 Core Features

  • 🧠 Waypoint-based AI logic: Design and assign behavior patterns with a visual, event-driven system.
  • 🗺️ Waypoint editor: Create patrols, breach points, cover systems, and interactions with full in-editor control.
  • ⚔️ Modular actions: Add or customize actions like move, shoot, aim, wait, peek, breach, etc.
  • 👁️ Sensor system: AI units can detect enemies using vision cones, sound, and line-of-sight checks.
  • 🎮 Playable characters: Integrated system for player-controlled units with commands and responses.
  • 🤖 Enemy AI controller: Create enemies that react dynamically to sound, vision, or strategic triggers.
  • 🧱 Custom actions and conditions: Extend logic easily via scriptable architecture.
