Character Animation System (CAS) is a new workflow for Unity that makes animation easy and scalable. Focus on building your game while CAS handles blending and IK.
CAS works with your existing Animator Controller, keeping it clean and simple. Instead of stacking complex layers, you add Modular Overlays that blend dynamically. Want your character to hold a torch or aim with a gun? Drop in an Overlay (pose or controller) and adjust a few blend sliders – it’s that simple.
On top of that, CAS includes procedural modifiers for natural, dynamic interactions, saving you time and helping you ship new ideas fast.

🔹 Your Animator, Modular Overlays
Build your Animator once, add your Overlays, and adjust the blending sliders.
CAS also supports Overlay Animators – modular controllers with custom logic (say, sword draw, holster, and attack). Create states, transitions, or blend trees, and CAS will dynamically blend them with the main Animator.
