Simple Build System

This 3D automated build system can take any mesh or terrain and add a grid to it. The grid can then be used to place buildings by the player. This tool is intended for either top down city builders or first person games with a building system.

Build area grid customization settings include:

  • Cell Size
  • Freeplace, flat, or complex build grid modes
  • Maximum angle to draw grid lines (and allow buildings to be placed)
  • Whether or not to visually show the grid
  • Grid Y offset
  • Build areas work as intended while being scaled, rotated, and nested/parented

Building customization settings include:

  • Size (how many cells it takes up (x, z)
  • Can rotate
  • Is a foundation built under the building on uneven ground
  • Can buildings be stacked on top of it
