About this asset

Super high quality rocket launches recorded from Kennedy Space Center and Wallops Island VA! Recorded in stereo with high quality dynamic microphones from 1.5-4 miles away from the rockets. You will not find higher quality launch recordings ANYWHERE.

Delta IV Heavy with Orion capsule, mission EFT-1 recorded 4-Dec-2014

Atlas 5 with MAVEN (Mars Probe), recorded 18-Nov-2013

The Atlas 5 launch has cheering, the Delta IV Heavy launch has no background noise,
The Falcon 9 has launch countdown prior to the actual launch,
The Minotaur V with LADEE is essentially an ICBM, so this is an authentic weapon missile launch sound; one recording with countdown and one without,
The Antares is the Orbital Sciences rocket that exploded in October 2014, recorded 1.5 miles from the rocket, so the launch audio itself is short followed by a short period of quiet and then the rocket explosion. The rocket explosion is included as a separate file.

My 'editorial comments' have been removed from the audio versions. The full launch videos can be seen at the links below:
