Retro FX URP is a retro visual effects toolkit built for Unity 2022.3 LTS, Unity 6000.3 LTS, Unity 6000.5, and the Universal Render Pipeline.
Recreate PS1-inspired, CRT, VHS, arcade, analog horror, and low-resolution aesthetics using pixelation, virtual resolution control, dithering, limited color palettes, posterization, scanlines, CRT curvature, RGB separation, bloom, chromatic aberration-style color offsets, VHS distortion, frame-style glitches, analog video noise, tape artifacts, flicker, interference, and other retro post-processing effects.
The package includes:
Configurable retro post-processing effects through the RetroFXURP camera component.
A URP Renderer Feature for applying the full-screen retro post-processing pipeline.
Reusable presets with runtime preset switching and reset controls.
Custom shaders for retro surfaces, PBR materials, lava, water, terrain, neon terrain, retrowave terrain, and retrowave wireframe effects.
Custom shader inspectors for easier material setup.
Automatic shader validation, assignment, and build-safe configuration through the included build guard.
RetroFX Texture & Blend, an Editor tool for resizing, blending, posterization, color reduction, dithering, batch processing, and PNG export.
Optional demo scripts, including an FPS controller, flashlight toggle, interactable objects, rotating objects, and an interactive preset control panel.
