■ WHAT IS

UniWP (Unity WordPress) is a powerful tool that connects your Unity project to your WordPress website, enabling seamless interaction between the two. With UniWP, you can manage your WordPress content and users directly from Unity.

Key Features

From your Unity project, you can:

• User Management: register new users, check account status, retrieve account details, delete users, and more.
• Post Management: list all posts, get posts by a specific user, retrieve post details, delete posts, etc.
• Media Management: upload, download, list, and delete media files.
• Comments: list and manage WordPress comments.
• Additional Operations: handle logged-in users, upload files, and perform other common tasks.

Extensibility

For operations not natively supported, UniWP includes a dedicated PHP framework, allowing you to create custom functionalities tailored to your needs.

■ HOW UniWP WORKS

UniWP is made up of two main components:

1. The UniWP WordPress Plugin: this is installed on your WordPress website and allows seamless integration with Unity.
2. The UniWP Unity Asset: this is installed in your Unity project, enabling it to communicate with your WordPress site.

How It Works

The UniWP plugin provides a built-in set of functionalities for interacting with WordPress. These are implemented as REST APIs, managed by the WordPress REST engine. This means that all operations between Unity and WordPress are carried out via standard HTTP requests.

Security

To ensure secure communication, all data exchanged between your Unity project and WordPress is encrypted using a secret key, which is automatically generated by the UniWP plugin. This ensures that your API interactions are protected.

■ WOOCOMMERCE

While UniWP is designed to connect Unity with the native WordPress functions, it also extends its capabilities to support some popular WordPress plugins.

With version 1.6, UniWP introduces support for WooCommerce's official REST APIs, enabling you to work with WooCommerce directly from your Unity project.

■ EASILY EXTENSIBLE

The WordPress framework offers a wide range of functionalities, and installed plugins can introduce additional methods. Given this, it’s understandable that UniWP may not cover every specific need out of the box.

However, UniWP is easily extendable. You can add new APIs to introduce custom features and enhance its functionality.

To simplify this process, the UniWP plugin includes a custom class designed to streamline certain parts of API development, making it easier for you to integrate and extend the platform to suit your needs.
