SmoothTrails

Updated in 1.7: Now rendering smooth trails while animating in the editor! Cleaned up Inspector a bit too.

Are your weapon trails are chunky? Yeah, low framerates and fast-rotating objects will do that. What if you could fix it for a few bucks? Now you can!

SmoothTrails uses Unity's fast LineRenderer and implements the same features that are on TrailRenderer, plus cubic Bezier spline interpolation. For pretty much the same CPU/GPU cost as a TrailRenderer! Why not have your cake and eat it too?

In the video, I show a quality comparison where two objects move the exact same way, and SmoothTrails samples points at 5x less frequently and generates 5 spline points, so the two trails have the same number of points. If you increase this slightly, you get even smoother results. This video was taken at SmoothTrails' lowest quality setting, too.

For the price, you won't find this quality or performance anywhere else.
